no, my school does NOT have any programs for anything to do with cosmetology, besides like science classes.

Does the high shcool you go to offer Cosmetology classes? If so take them!!! After you graduate get into a good Tech school that offers the course.

Go for it if that is what makes you happy, I did and loving hairstying!!

Hi, you might want to start looking into beauty how-to books like Bobbi Brown Beauty, InStyle's Getting Gorgeous and The Beauty Workbook. They will cover everything but the haircutting skills, maybe you can find a used cosmetology textbook (like on half.com) to learn about that. Good luck!

You should talk to your guidance counselor at school. I know at the high school where I teach, there are cosmetology classes offered where students can earn their certificate when they graduate from high school. That would be one of the best ways to get started.

If that's not offered at your high school, check to see if classes are offered at your local community college or if there is a beauty school near where you live, find out how old you have to be to start taking classes.

If you know thats what you want to do see if there is a technical high school in your area. I wish I would have known thats what I wanted to do instead of spending the money and being left with a student loan.

Browse your local bookstore. There's plenty of books on the subject, just ask someone who works there for them.
