i think there are hundreds of millions, perhaps billions that hate america. they hate america because they are jealous and/or ignorant and/or misguided.
i love america. wait, no, i hate america, because there are 1 million readers of the new york times, i hate living in a country that is so stupid that 1 million people actually read the new york times. i love america sans the new york times. no wait. i hate the idiot rules that we have for flying. let me see, we dont allow toothpaste and nailclippers on flights but we allow murdering muslims on flights. i say we ban muslims from flights and allow toothpaste. i love america but i hate the new york times and murdering muslims.

You say you wouldn't kill your neighbor just because you don't like him or her, but I'll bet you would kill them if you knew they were going to kill you or one of your family members. And that is the thing about terrorist, they are a threat to everyone. Their whole mission in life is to kill, and ignoring them isn't going to make them go away. They were ignored after the first attempt on the World Trade Center in1993. They were ignored again after the suicide bombing of the USS Cole in October of 2000, and less then a year later, they pulled off 9/11. And if nothing is done, the terrorist will pull off something else that will cause more destruction and deaths. Each attack was a little worse then the one that came before it, so I cringe to think of what could happen with their next big plan if they're not stopped.
If you hate America, then why stay? You have the choice to leave. If you think there is a country that can offer you more, then you should move there. Why continue living in the States if you're so miserable? People need to accept that President Bush isn't going to stop his fight of terrorism, and he isn't going to pull our troops out of Iraq until he is ready, or until his time in the White House is up.

Well, I just visited a country that has no negative feelings towards the United States. At least not officially. The basic feel of many countries is that the United States is very currupt... While they do provide help to certain countries, they will do it to gain control, and not solely for good intentions. If there are problems around the world where the US could trully help, and the government doesn't feel that they have something to gain... then chances are that they will not provide help. Notice the difference of how the United States treats different communist countries... Depending on thier "importance" we give the bigger ones more leway than the smaller ones.
This of course does not take into account world tragedies, where many countried contribute... I think everyone agrees that the United States is a great resource when it comes to that. It's the internal conflicts in other countries that the United States chooses to get into that many disagree with.
I do agree with you, that we should all just try to become better people... value each other's life and propoerty and that will lead to a better world. It always bothers me to see one country willing to kill hundreds of civilians in order to avenge the loss of one or two of thier men... it shows a blatant disregard to the value of life.

i agree with Girl360's.. i do not hate america, i am just dissapointed in how it is ran.. corporations run this country, not a government. everything is about YOUR MONEY.. and everyone wants your money..products are made cheaply, scams by businesses are everywhere.. i never shop at WALMART.. and i have a veggie car... i get my fuel for free, filter it, and pay about 5 dollars every two weeks for gas.. its horrible when the government makes laws according to corporations, and that they are decided because of competition with more earth friendly laws, just because the other laws would make less money.. now i have been to a few other countries. i have to say, i did enjoy them much more. italy and holand were my fav. by far. in holand, i felt a welcoming i have never felt here. i didnt feel like i was being pushed by the companies...by the people, or by the police.. it was amazing. i could stand around and not have a cop come up to me and ask what i was doing.. i hardly saw any. most of the young people and adults took public transportation, or walked.. about two of the 20 yr olds i met had vehicles..the news was encouraging. it was more positive than it is here. and holand(along with numerous other countries) by statistics has far less crime. i walked into a coffee shop, paid what would be in american dollars 1.97, and received the biggest mug of wonderful cappacino, along with a fat j... it was heaven.. well, none of this really has to do with me hating america, more wishing i could get a greencard for another country. italy was lovely also...

it seems from other comments here and elsewhere that President Bush is a lightning rod for anything bad ( that is anything that some people don't LIKE ) for the last 100+yrs. Is he that bad? (I don't like him by the way). What kind of a narrow minded morons are people to believe that he is that powerful in the first place. Especially to reach back into history?
People hate Americans because:
Jealousy, pure & simple. We are SO HORRIBLE of a nation that everybody is trying to get in! Where is the rush to immigrate to Iran or the Sudan, etc.?
Anywhere we are not wanted or dispised, we should pull our BILLIONS upon BILLIONS upon BILLIONS of dollars in aid, and keep it to ouselves.
Don't bite the hand that feeds you.and clothes you.
Why so many Americans hate the US internally? They have never had to earn an ounce of their liberties, and freedoms and therfore take them for granted. They lack perspective to act repsonsibley to use them wisely and preserve them.
The minute that some small desire is unfulfilled by the government, it is the ultimate insult and a crime agaisnt their freedom. (The are just spoiled kids in adult bodies).
The abuse of our freedoms and waste of our wealth at home makes us look rediculous to those abroad. That is no reason to hate us, but we do look comical.

Are you really an idiot?
Let's see, how to start this....
Operation Iraqi Freedom! WMDS must go! Invade Invade Invade!
Iraqi civilian sees a bunch of guys coming up to him wearing military uniform, and 'claiming' he's liberating him, all the while shooting down civilians.
Israel? Hello? If the US does not stop vetoing UN resolutions against Israel, then Israel will be synonymous with the US, and they both share the blame for each other's actions.
Sand *******? Shiekhs? Terrorists? <--- All words created by the people in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.
Gimme a break.

It's kind of confusing. If you love America as a place that has pioneered democracy, what do you feel when fascists take over? If you believe in freedom and justice what do you feel when the president thinks freedom is only for those that agree with him and that he's above the law?
Throughout the world, the majority of people hate what the current American government is doing. I know I do. But that's absolutely not the same as hating America.

I don't hate America. I am afraid that it's not as simple as just getting a long. I wish that it was. I wish that at the snap of a finger the world would stand still for a few days and remain in silence and think about what it is that we are really do and how foolish the hate is that we have for one another, but it will never happen
Hate stems from fear and it stems from ignorance. Hate stems from various beliefs and stereotypes of other cultures. It's a sad thing. It's not going to change, the only thing that we can change is ourselves. Making in difference in one life can affect many lives. Goodness is contagious just as much as being bad.

I dont hate America,I love the country, freedom and all it has to offer. I hate politics, and some politicians for choices they made. I dont agree with sending our troops to fight in some countries, because it is sad how many lives we have lost, trying to help other entities.
I say, let them kill each others, if they dont have the sense to stop, but lets not stick our nose in their problems.

I don't hate America, I just don't appreciate your President, he's not sending your kids and adults to 'help,' he's blowing up places for oil, money, power, and votes. That's helping no one but himself. Do you as an American citizen appreciate the fact that he's giving you guys a bad name? He's brought it all on his own accord and you guys voted for him, so it's not like the rest of the world is at fault here.

The thing is ... many non Americans love Americans and have
the utmost respect for them. At this point, far fewer of them have
the utmost respect for our government, but most realize that
they aren't the same thing.
We did more to WIN the war on terrorism by helping victims
of the tsunamis and earthquakes than all of our activities in Iraq
put together.
Many people think of the United States as the "can do"
nation and admire us for not being mired in the muck of
tribal, religious and class emnities.
I, for one, think that is a hard thing to live up to. I'd surely
like to try.
