this passage is talking about animals and fruits and vegetables bringing after their own kind. Also people.
What it means is" this is why lions have baby lions and not puppies, because it is not their own kind.
Like the way people hang around their own kind,
women like to be with other women, men like to be with men ect.
Birds have baby birds and not cats. Their kind is bird so they have their own kind which is bird.
Hope that helps you a little.

Females need a male to become pregnant. She can not be pregnant alone. The offspring animal or man is after its kind
or kin blood likeness. So it will have features of its Mom and Dad and if not go back a generation or two to the first generation of parents. Features come out from way back and genealogy
the old genes kick in and heredity and heritage. That is why you can get ill from something that runs in the family and is passed down from generation to generation. Note I understand term it is in the blood or bloodline to repeat history and you have children to carry on your legacy the idea they will carry a little of you to the future. Passed on You will die but you want your recreated child to live on and enjoy life and tell others about you to carry your ideas and likes and dislikes forward. Now a mixed up animal or man with animal is against nature and is reported a odd creature but God will not let it live long so You do not have monsters or half man half beast as reported in stories or joked about on being half this and half that. It is just not the way God wanted nature to be. Half Dog Half Cat stuff like that. Man Woman Male Female
Normal one has the honor to carry the egg and support pain and another the rights to fertalize and care for the mate and offspring.
Except animals teach their young to fend for themselves and then the family unit is over...The human baby can not support themselves...is that odd or what?

All along, since the creation of life forms in Genesis 1, the biblical term "after his/their/its kind" has been interpreted to mean that the plant life, marine life, aerial and terrestrial life forms would reproduce after one's kind. This is certainly true as is obvious in natural life itself. All kinds of life forms are reproducing their own kind in nature. However, what has been utterly overlooked is the biblical fact that what God created during the creation week of Genesis 1, are in fact the life forms "after their original kind" that were there from the beginning of creation (Genesis 1:1) comprising pre-Adamic life and were next destroyed (Genesis 1:2; Jeremiah 4:23-26) because of universal sin. In other words, the different life forms that existed earlier on earth in the beginning were brought forth or reproduced during the creation week by God's creative fiat. The words in Genesis Chapter 1 , Ch 7 and Ch 8 "after his kind" refer to the laws of reproduction . Species remain in species.
EXAMPLE: two of every species refers to two animals of the same kind. Apes are a species. Human Beings are a species. Apes don't turn into human beings because there is a law of reproduction. If Apes became human that law would still be in effect. Apes are not becoming human nor did they ever.

You have to read the whole scripture. Such as in Gen. 1:11 it says that "And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so." It just means that each thing would produce grass or herbs or fruit or animal after itself. There are fixed boundaries beyond which reproductive variations cannot go.

Native and Science Geek are correct. It means that anything from Trees to Animals must mate with their own species in order to survive as a species. Thus we have no "native *sses" only those constantly being bred. Thus rabbits with rabbits, squirrels with squirrels, ad infitinitum. It doesn't mean "odd" reproduction can't happen, it just means its usually "outside the natural order" and ends in "mules, unable to reproduce." Great question.

Genesis 1:26
Then God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.
Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Adam was not made from dust. Man is not dust and neither is your god.
Genesis 3:22
Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like (>) "one of us"(<) in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—”maybe you will start to read the bible correctly after reading this, but most christians deny the truth.
Wanta know more just ask.

after his likeness or in his image. Don't for a minute believe that means God is a two legged two armed creature with a head of white hair. Angels assume our likeness throughout scripture yet they are not made in the image of God as we are. We have been given such a magnificent gift that goes far beyond physical characteristics. We feel, we love, we suffer, we create these are facets of the image of God.

It means a pure form, not an evolving entity. It means a chicken and not an egg, it means a human and not an evolving ape.It also means not an embryo, but a fully developed animal.
