Everyone has to start at the beginning! When the baby arrives; mother nature has a way of bringing on natural instincts about your baby. And also, there are soooo many books around, and probably Internet websites which give advice and care instructions~ so don't be nervy about it! The actual birth process is a real experience; and the more positive you are; the better the outcome. Try consulting with other family members who've had babies; and get their views too!
Meanwhile, don't cross your bridges before you get to them!

Breathe in..... breathe out....... breathe in......... breathe out....... Congratulations!! Now...... this is a normal reaction to a very momentous occasion. You will manage just fine. The fact that you are panicking shows you understand what a big change and a responsibility it is to have a baby. This is good - because it IS a big responsibility, and it DOES change your life, but in a very positive way! Just take it day by day, try to relax, remember to take some time for yourself and time with your partner before the baby comes. You will make mistakes, but don't worry about that because everybody makes mistakes. I'm sure you are going to give your baby lots of love and that alone will make you a great parent. Some practical advice: have babysitters lined up so you can short breaks and most of all, relax and enjoy your baby because they grow up way too fast!

dont panic.
its a normal thing for your partner to give birth. and you need to STOP and think something here. say to yourself this:

'dont panic, cus if i panic then my partner will panic and then the baby will panic. and everyone around will panic.'

calm down man. you need to be the strong one here. okay?
make sure you have some cloths put aside in a bag for your partner when she goes to the hospital. you never know at what time of the day it will be. have a clean night gown and a clean pair of underwear. maybe 2. 2 pairs of socks. a tshirt and some pants also. just incase she needs to stay there several hours.

you need to stay by her side. dont leave her. just incase you must go. but dont leave cus your freaking out. calm yourself down and dont panic.

?

What are you in a state of panic over? Are you afraid the baby is going to bite you or something?

I have a baby girl with another on the way. Children are wonderful! =)

Panic because you don't know if you're the father? If so, get the paternity test done ASAP.

Otherwise start saving up. It costs over $100k to raise a kid till s/he is ready for college.

You're just in shock right now. It's going to be great! It's a lot of work and a big emotional investment, but it's SO worth it! Kids are great- enjoy that new little one, and always be there for him or her. Congrats!
