The toilet seat and lid is meant to be down to cut off any bad smells. There are some men who put the seat down (not many).
What I can't understand is why they miss that huge bowl and piddle all around it and that's when they are sober. I can't understand a lot of things about them.
I do understand that men are a very different animal than a woman and they don't think the same way we do. Poor creatures!! You must be patient with them. It pays to use good training methods, those used when training a dog works very well. Praise them when they do the right thing and reward them. If you do these things I reckon you can eventually train a man to put the seat down. Good luck!!

It bothers me too and I am a guy. Why have the lid at all if you are just going to leave it up? Who wants to walk into a bathroom and look into the toilet only because you looked in that direction? Put the thing down.

I don't see why it matters. The toilet seat will just be put up again anyway when the next person uses it. Shouldn't that be curtious because the next person has one less thing to do?

Why do girls hate it so much when we leave it up?
Why cant you just put the seat the down before you use it?
Look before you sit, if you keep fallling in!
Or would you rather we leave it down and you have the possibility of sitting on our urine?

How about looking before you sit?
I know I do.
If the issue is with going during the night and not being awake enough to even check, just don't drink liquid before bed.
I only ever wake up and go to the bathroom during the night if I am sick, I figure I am not an extraordinary case..

Well, I think there is a seat so it can be put down and opened when necessary.
I have a private bathroom so it isn't a problem but I always close it anyway.

Yes. I hate it! The reason we can't & shouldn't have to put it up is b/c we will fall in! Nothing happens to guys if we leave it down . . . Luckily, my man puts it down always but that's b/c we keep it closed so our cats dont' get in it.

Would you rather have us pee on the seat or pee like a girl? Do us a favor and practice hovering over the bowl while toning those legs.
If you must, pay and have an urinal installed in the bathroom. Problem solved.

Yah, I trained mine to close the top lid before he flushes. There have been studies that the pee and poop particles splash up when it's flushing and can land on your toothbrush and stuff. Then, when he has to pee he just lifts up both lids anyways. Not a big deal.

We always just both close lid, that way when we both use it we both have to put a seat or two up! That works for us!
