Okay, you tell me something. If you enter a room and see that there is a pile of papers are sorted and stack accroding to order, would you thing that it had been done by a blow of wind? Or would you think that someone has made or sorted them in order.
How do you support the idea of sorting and creating and distributing the whole universe in such mannered and perfect way, just by chance?
Okay, if you calculate with the probablity theory you'll see how small probablity there is to happen anything like that, you can call it ZERO. There is a zero probablity for evolution on human. There is a zero probablity for a monkey to become human. If you don't believe me then you do the math. If any thing that is not in the order of the universe or doesn't support the laws of physics, how can you expect the universe to be running? And are you trying to say that it is all just happend by itself? I can't see your point.

Leading scientists do not believe in intelligent design. What is intelligent about a human having a tail bone? Why all the skeletal similarities? Was the "creator" just to lazy to start from scratch? Leading scientist believe that life began via chemical evolution (or bio-genesis) as supported by the famous Miller and Urey experiment.
Don't be confused between evolution and the origin of life. They are not the same thing. Evolution is a change in gene frequency within a population over time. The origin of life precedes DNA (or the theoretical RNA precursor) and, therefore, can't show a change in gene frequency.

I see that the flak is already coming in. The first responder is thumping the bible, and the second one is citing Stroebel, whom I have read (he's a nitwit). Your view is perfectly plausible, and has been officially adopted by the Catholic Church (which, considering the Galileo affair, I find little short of amazing). I find it unnecessary to believe in god, and can prove that such a belief is useless, but that does not make it necessarily wrong. And as for the claim that evolution is "just a theory", it is worth remembering that NO theory can ever be proved correct (any scientific theory can be proved incorrect, if a counterexample is found), but evolution, like special relativity, is now established science (it makes predictions which people rely on) and to suppose that it is wrong is silly.
Postscript: This subject has, of course, been addressed numerous times in this forum. One of the better answers may be found in the question by haterhater, answered by Emily Rose, in May.

You must remember that a theory is not proved fact. It is a very educated guess. The Theory of Evolution has many unanswered questions and relies on intelligent design in some instances. Because it is a flawed theory Christians feel quite comfortable believing in creation. There are many who feel that it is almost sacrilege to even speak against Darwin's theory, and they get very nasty about it. The church used to be the same way with science. Now the church promotes science and science shuns religion. We live in a religious dark ages today, but that will change one day too. In my opinion you should study both and decide which makes sense to you. If there are people who call you names, know that they are afraid, because the ground on which they stand is very shaky.

Though raised a Catholic and taught to believe that God created Adam and Eve and we are all descendants of these two beings (which is kinda gross in and of itself), I believe in evolution. Though I believe that there is a God, I believe in the "clock-maker" model of God, which is to say that at the beginning of time God set up the universe, presses the proverbial "start" button and sat back to watch the world unfold. Basically Intelligent Design. To believe in Adam and Eve as mankinds parents seems childish and ignorant to me. It's a cute story in the Bible for children to believe when too small to comprehend the complexity of science and evolution, but for grown adults who have been through high school and college to still believe that makes me wonder what kind of education system we have. It's good to have a faith, to believe in something bigger than all of us, but to believe these man-made myths about the beginning of the Earth is just silly.

There can be no logical argument made for the concept of creationism. Those who practice the basic religions of the world are lost in their own ignorance. Their greatest fear is thinking independently. Religions thrive on the ignorant and Christianty has no monoply on stupidity. If you saw Pat Robertson on TV a couple of days ago proclaiming that "God will defend Israel.", you realize that they must be spelling god " George W."

Both are based on faith do Christians believe in adaptation yes, in the wolf becoming a dog yes, but a wolf becoming an ape no. Both beliefs require faith, Christianity- faith- God created the world and sent His one and only Son to save us, Evolution- faith- how the first molecule came about and how it became living DNA. My dad believes God created the earth and allowed for evolution combining the two is only ok if the evolutionary part doesn't twist in anyway the God part like that God created the earth and left it alone ect...

I think the reason why Christians generally disregard evolution is because of the misinformation that most churches have out there. People don’t understand it, and they trust their pastors. Therefore, if their pastor says it’s untrue, they believe it. However, there is no credible scientist that still doesn’t believe in evolution. There is no missing link by the way. We have all the fossils that we need to show the progression of man.
Recently there has been a remarkable change in the Christian community: Many members of the Christian faith are embracing evolution. For example, there is this article:
At Churches Nationwide, Good Words for Evolution: "On the 197th birthday of Charles Darwin, ministers at several hundred churches around the country preached yesterday against recent efforts to undermine the theory of evolution, asserting that the opposition many Christians say exists between science and faith is false. At St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, a small contemporary structure among the pricey homes of north Atlanta, the Rev. Patricia Templeton told the 85 worshipers gathered yesterday, 'A faith that requires you to close your mind in order to believe is not much of a faith at all....' At the Evanston Mennonite Church, Susan Fisher Miller, 48, an editor and English professor, said, 'I completely accept and affirm the view of God as creator, but I accommodate evolution within that.'"
And this letter, signed by more than 10,000 clergy members:
An Open Letter Concerning Religion and Science: "...We the undersigned, Christian clergy from many different traditions, believe that the timeless truths of the Bible and the discoveries of modern science may comfortably coexist. We believe that the theory of evolution is a foundational scientific truth, one that has stood up to rigorous scrutiny and upon which much of human knowledge and achievement rests. To reject this truth or to treat it as “one theory among others” is to deliberately embrace scientific ignorance and transmit such ignorance to our children..."
The interesting thing to understand is that when you accept evolution, what you are automatically doing is rejecting the concept of a soul. Here is why: As soon as you accept that evolution is true, you also accept that the creation story in the Bible is false. It is pure mythology. The concept of the "soul", which comes from the same book, is exactly the same sort of mythology.
Simply think through the logic. What the theory of evolution says is that every living thing on this planet has evolved through a completely natural process. Every species that we see today is derived from simple, single-cell organisms over the course of hundreds of millions of years. In other words, there was no supernatural creation process for humans as described in the Bible's book of Genesis.
As you think about this, what you will realize is that evolved beings have no souls. Human beings are no different from any other animal, insect, plant or bacteria in the way that we have evolved. In the same way that every other living thing on planet Earth is soul-less, humans are soul-less. The whole notion of a soul is a figment of human imagination.
This makes complete sense. The biochemistry of life powers evolution. That biochemistry is amazing and complex, but it is nothing more than a set of soul-less chemical reactions. When the chemical reactions cease, you die. There is no "soul" mixed in with the chemicals.
Where did the first cell come from? Many believers will argue that God magically created the first living cell. This, of course, is silly. The scientific principle that describes the origin of life is called abiogenesis. In the same way that there is no supernatural being involved in evolution, there is no supernatural being involved in abiogenesis. Both the creation of life and the evolution of species are completely natural processes.
There is no "supreme being" in heaven who reached down to create life on Earth or human beings. Nor is that being answering prayers. There is no soul. There is no everlasting life. Science tells us all of these things with complete clarity. God is imaginary.
Understanding the Rationalizations
Many believers will say, "This is simply untrue. Even though humans are the product of evolution, humans are still special in God's eyes. God manipulated the evolutionary process in some magical way to divinely create human beings, and God magically gives each human being a soul at conception."
In order to see the truth, you need to understand that all explanations involving "magic" are false. The fact is, God had absolutely nothing to do with the creation of life on this planet nor with any part of the evolutionary process. As soon as you accept this fact, you realize that you have no soul. God is imaginary and the biblical concept of everlasting life is a fairy tale.
The fact that we exist as a conscious, intelligent, rational species is an accident of nature that involved no supernatural intervention. There is no part of the scientific explanation of evolution that says, "a mythical supernatural being reaches in right here and guides it." Evolution, by its very nature, is a supernatural-free process.
There is no way to simultaneously "accept evolution" and "believe in an everlasting soul as described in the Bible." If evolution is true, then the Bible describes a creation process that is a complete myth. The concept of a soul is myth in exactly the same way.

Believing that God put so much effort into them makes people feel special and superior.
I think most Christians - the ones who don't believe in evolution- have a superiority complex- In my opinion and experience!

You are quite misinformed friend, the gaps in the THEORY of evolution grow wider every day, the missing fossil records are huge and cannot be ignored. Leading scientists today tend toward the theory of intelligent design. The dna matrix, the storage capacity of the human brain, the mathematics of the universe all point toward design rather than accident. However we all have our opinions!
