Hi!

I am sure this is a joint operation between many different agencies, but I was wondering which agency (if any) is actually in-charge overall of anti-drug operations- especially concerning drugs that are being smuggled in by plane/boat through Florida?

Thanks in advance...
T.

its US Customs, after 9/11 they all merged. It is now ICE...Immigration-Customs-Enforcement. a federal law enforcement agency, and the have more power right now then any one else. All Agents have been gross-trained and on 6 month after 9/11 took over. The first line is still Customs, but they also changed the uniforms, and all have to wear vests too. The training center is in Glynco..So. Georgia Brunswick. Border Patrol is there too.
DEA is second (only on Land defense) then they take over. Don't forget the Coast Guard. There patrol the 12 miles of shore..
yes ICE is under the Homeland Security now, and really shrewd it up. No body wants to work in Miami anymore.

Customs is in charge of things passing into the USA,

But the DEA also does drug investigation and the smuggling of drugs.

The FBI could become involved if it leads from one of thier cases.

Border Patorl can be involved if it is being smuggled accross also

State police can be invovled, as well as city and county police departments.

and I am sure I am leaving out dozens of others, but even the Civil Air Patrol helps with the DEA and others in flying planes in watching for drug smugglers.

Agencies would include the DEA and US Customs but im pretty sure that the one in charge would have to be the DEA because they're the Drug Enforcement Agency.

I believe that it is supposed to be the DEA, (Drug Enforcement Agency).

However, there is too much evidence on and off the Web that while that is their designated job, they actually have more in reality to do with bringing in drugs from overseas.

The Drug enforcement Administration has that responsibility as one of it's primary duties, although the U.S. Coast Guard will frequently attempt to take down drug smugglers on the high seas.
