Your dog should have a cool, damp nose. If its hot and dry then he's too hot. Since the heatwave has ended he probablyt has a slight temperature.
Make sure he has fresh water available all the time and keep an eye on how much he drinks.
If you're concerned you can always ring the vet for advice.

All dogs noses are wet. That is how they collect smells and helps them cool off

sometimes wet sometimes dry. mostly wet that means he's a happy healthy dog!

yes, usually my Border Terrier has a wet nose unless she has been on a really long walk & she's worn out....she climbs in her basket pulls her blanket over her as best as she can & she snores...then her nose is almost dry & quite warm.

Wet, it means they're healthy, if its dry, i think it needs more water.
