Break it down for yourself. You have commitments to your family. If you killed them, you'd be freeing yourself of a commitment, or possibly trying to put an end to something. Or maybe you're afraid that you're going to hurt them in some other way.

I doubt the dream means that you want to kill your family. But if you think about it, you'll figure out what it does mean to you. And that's the only meaning that's significant.

after my father passed away i started to have these upseting dreams that i had killed him. he died of old age at home with my sister and mother present. i loved my dad...we were pals and i still can't understand why i have this recurring dream...i don't know the answer but if its any help you are not alone.

I highly doubt you're ever going to kill anyone. Most people when they're in their REM cycles have very lucid dreams about this stuff.
