It depends on what someone is going through withdrawl from, in part, as well as individual chemical/physical makeup. Usually, though, there are some shared symptoms. Getting the shakes, getting nervous, or easily irritated/grumpy/moody, problems sleeping and/or relaxing. Scensory sensitivity, ie. sight, sound, and smell is often unduly and unpleasantly hightened. Hightened thirst.

They twitch, hallucinate and shake uncontrollably. They vomit a lot. Their senses are very colorful and they may hear voices.

They may have hot sweats or cold sweats. There are periods of absolute obsession with going back to the chemical they are wtihdrawing from.

They may have nightmarish visions they can't distinguish from reality.

Then these symptoms calm down and reality returns.
