Yes there are rules regarding harrassment, you can get all the rules and regulations collection agencies must follow in the "Fair Debt Collection Practices Act", I used to be a debt collector, and before we started making phone calls we had to learn these laws.

They can call you as many times as they want. If you tell them to stop calling you then they must comply. But when you do this you leave them very little options. They could possibly file a judgement against you or take you to court.

They can call you as many times as they want to in order to try to collect a delinquent debt. They can even call you at your job. You can also tell them to not call you at your job and they must comply. Also they cannot call you before 8AM or after 8PM.

Ther really should be a limit. I had one call me every hour-7days a week. When I did answer it was the same thing. They just wouldn't believe you when you said you were broke.

You need to tell them to Cease and Desist..If they continue past that then it is harassment
