If you were trying to make the point that in almost any war that both combatants believe that they have the moral high ground, and you made up an admittedly stupid story like the following, and wrote a horrificly long sentence in the process - How would you categorize the story from an English literature viewpoint?

-----------------------------------------------------------
In the very first war in recorded history - The Cave Men versus The River People - which occurred some 14,000,000 years ago, archaeologists found some interesting inscriptions near the battlefield.

From the Cave Men - "We Fight for the Great God of Caves!!!"
and
From the River People - "We Fight for the Great God of Rivers!!!"

Cannot really tell you what form of English liteture that would be . More or less it would be two different world views by civilizations but it is definatly not an allegory. An allegory is a way of conveying a meaning other than the literal.
