yes it does matter--when you wear sunglasses your pupils dilate so more UV is getting in than if you didn't wear any at all--you have to get the kind with UV protection--it doesn't matter which brand as long as it has the UV protection--you definitely need to cover your whole eye and I always like to make sure that a good portion around my eyes are covered--keep the wrinkles away
