I have advanced Emphysema and I'm wondering how others keep their spirits up when the "Bad" days roll around. I've been feeling crummy, I'm really grumpy & I don't like me much when I'm like this. (I'm sure no one else does either!) Please treat this question with respect...no jokers OK?

My husband has been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and was told he is in the advanced stages. They gave him 6 months. :( But we are trying to think positive and look to alternative medicine for a better outlook. Sometimes he doesn't feel so good and hurts in all his joints. It's hard for him to get around at times. He sleeps alot. Of course you would be grumpy. And I'm sure the ones around you are understanding and don't hold it against you. If you have a loved one by you, don't be afraid to ask for hugs or snuggles. It helps alot. If you don't want to ask, then say I want to give....who can turn it down? Hugs and loves go along way and improve moods. It doesn't make everything "all better", but it does make it more tolerable. My prayers are with you. I hope this helps. :)
