I read your other question. I think most just assume that at 16 everyone is so gung ho to drive like they were. I know I was, but I never assume anything. I got my lisc on my 16 birthday but my 18 y.o. boyfriend still didn't have his or was not in a big hurry to drive...LOL I had to teach him (he got it at 20)
My BFF also she got her liscence around 17 but she hated driving so much that she never did. Ppl just assume stuff...I would imagine in big cities where most ppl don't own cars that a drivers liscense is no big deal.

I really don't see the correlation between the two. I do want to add that not having a license doesn't mean you can't drive, as some are implying. I also want to add that my 82 year old grandmother loves to let people know that she has never had a drivers license and never learned how to drive. There are also various reasons people don't have licenses, like a DUI and child support and other things, so people should not assume that you are not married, because it just doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

You question wasn't clearly worded. I assumed you were referring to a drivers license after fulling reading your question, but it could be interpreted in other ways if you didn't think about the rest of the context. There isn't any more connection between children and a marriage license as there is between children and a drivers license. Neither will make you a good parent, nor will the absense of either make you a bad one.

In the society we live in, driver's licenses are earned at 16..some before. So, to say you don't have one, makes people "assume" you are under that age, adn therefore a good chance you are not married. No big deal....assumptions are their own problem.

ASSUME makes an A?S of U and ME.
So much for teenagers referring to driver's license.
Adam and Eve didn't have a license either and they were married.

they figure that the dad isn't in the picture since you didn't mention him. They probably also figure since you need rides that he isn't around to drive you....(we have such a car centric society we assume everyone can drive...this is not the case 50 years ago, the majority of women did not drive and every household may have had only one car.)

Well, hun it's not wrong to have kids w/o your license, but it is a major inconvenience. You should get that done, don't you want to depend on yourself and no one else?
