Yes, these speakers will be fine with your stereo system. You only need worry if the speaker impedance falls below about 3 ohms. In that case the amplifier may oscillate out of control.
Do NOT try to match impedances. Stereo amps and speakers are designed to be mismatched in impedance. A good amp will have a "damping factor" spec. of 50 or higher. This means that the output impedance of the amp is 8/50 ohms = 0.16 ohms.
You should use speaker wire that is as heavy gage as is reasonable. The objective is to keep the wire resistance smaller than the above 0.16 ohms.

It should not effect your amp but may effect your sound quality.
It's called impedance matching.
Some time ago some auto manufacture's used 4 ohm speakers and thinner wire to save costs.
The thinner wire may help.
I used 2 sets of 4 ohm speakers in series before and used large wire to impedance match before.
I would not consider puting a resistor in series because the power would drop over the resistor and be unhelpfull also you would need a large resistor because of the power would overheat it.
Improper impedance matching would effect the THD and the sound quality but doubtfull that it would harm your amp.
good luck

YES.. The only problem you might have is if you run your amp to hard or to long it will overheat. Most newer equipment will handle a 6 ohm load without even that problem.

If I remember what my exboyfriend used to say correctly then the answer is yes. It just means you will never have to worry about blowing the speakers since they can handle more than your stereo

Is it illegal to use your federal id number to open credit cards or for any form of credit? Ask your papa. If he says yes? Roll a dice to determine. If he says no? play monopoly with your mama.
