Hi, I am a Carolina girl and I just wanted to know is New York really a city that never sleeps????

Well...after having lived there for 8 years (originally from Texas) I have to yes...yes it is. It is because of many reasons...I am listing a few for you.
Bars and night clubs stay open until 4 to 5 am.
Subways and Buses run 24/7
Cabs are always available
Most delis and bodegas stay open 24 hours
Honestly, I could get anxious and want to take a walk at 3am and go out on the street of my neighborhood to find people still walking around bar hopping, walking dogs and having romantic strolls with loved ones.
Most restaurants stay open and serve food until 2am.
And then you have the people who are working...some start at 5 am some at 10am some at 10pm...so much variety in one place so its easy for the city to never sleep.

Oh...and the people who said that its Las Vegas...they are wrong...Las vegas never sleeps but is know as SIN CITY. NYC is and has always been called the city that never sleeps.

I swear I answered a question just like this one a few days ago. Anyway, yes it never sleeps. When I was living in Nashville, TN, I would complain about things closing at 4AM. I was like, "This is ridiculous! I need a pepperoni pizza RIGHT NOW!!! I can't believe Papa Johns closed at 4!". Or whatever it was that I wanted. Here, if you need ANYTHING, you can get it. You can even have spa treatments 24 hours in little Korea. Yep.. you can eat at some Korean barbecue, do some shopping, and get a massage and facial all from 3-6am in the morning. Then head over to the after hours clubs and hang out until noon when they close.

Definitely Manhattan!!! The outer 4 boroughs are a little different as well as upstate New York.

You betcha. You would be amazed at the traffic jams on the Manhattan Bridge at 2:00 in the morning.

THRUST ME, NEW YORK NEVER SLEEP! WHEN EVER I GO BACK HOME TO NEW YORK IT CAN BE ANYTIME OF THE DAY OR NIGHT, AND PEOPLE ARE ARE ALWAYS UP. THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO AND IT'S A FUN TOWN! I LOVE NEW YORK!!!

yes it always something to no matter whst time it is u will always find something to do nyc always have block parties it is full of so many celebrities u might just see one in towns square
