Great answers and I know theres alot of smelly ones out here and I could tell you guys some stories. Some of us are fat and lazy but many of us are not.Its not easy sitting behind a wheel 11 hours a day focusing on what other people are doing, especially in cities. If we scare you, some of us dont mean to.But we not only sit behind the wheel 11 hours, some days we have to unload our trucks,or sit at a shipper or receiver anywhere between 2-24 hours to get unloaded.Yes we can sleep but its difficult to force yourself to sleep. There are many wrecks with trucks but the statistics show most are caused by cars breaking in front of us,as it takes us 2 football fields to stop.we have on eighty thousand pounds most of the time and we dont want to hurt anyone, why do you think you see so many trucks in ditches. Some fall asleep yes,but some are to keep from killing someone else. You guys have taught me much and I hope I can return the favor. Thanks again for all the answers. U R super.Have a good wknd

Here in Florida a lot of foreigners drive trucks that have no education, and some are just weird. I drive a truck and I am not smelly or weird I am only 26 been in it for 6 years. I like it because I like a job with no boss over me. Always remember good looking women in shorts pass on Left side

I sold semi trucks and trailers, so met many drivers. Most are just regular people making a living. Sometimes after being on the road for a few days they look sort of rough, but they clean up well!

My Grandpa drove a truck for Safeway. He was a good guy. Very family oriented. I don't like to make generalizations about people I don't know.

They are wonderful people that make our lives possible. If not for these guys/gals sacrificing a family/personal life, we would not have stores fully stocked with everything we need. I love em and wish people would not give them so much crap!

I am one of those fierce truck drivers and I am taking the names of everyone who says something nasty. I can ensure that no toilet paper gets delivered to your city, remember that.

The stereotype is they're middle-aged, they're ugly, and drink beer all the time, but I try to judge people by their personality. It just depends.

Most of the ones I know are greasy and smell bad. And I don't know why.... there are truck stops with showers all over. And why is it... when people smell bad, they don't seem to smell themselves?!?!
