Because of that. And society. Sex is an object used to advertise now. Sex sells. And everyone exploits that fact.
So basically, if you aren't beautiful. You've got nothing because most people lie about having "personality" as their first priority.

Believe me...they are not. Looks will catch the eye and gain initial attention, but its what behind the looks that will eventually stand out. Have you ever noticed how someone (mostly the opposite sex) may look so beautiful initially..and then after you get to know them this perception changes. That's because now you are looking at the true person...not just the outside. Many times a beautiful person look down right ugly when their insides are exposed.

Actually looks are not the most important thing. But honestly could you be with someone you didn't find attractive. But attractiveness is based on personal preference, not on shallowness

Looks are not the most important thing in life. Maybe life in the United States, but not life everywhere.I think the most important thing in life is being a solid person. What I mean is getting as much education as one can. Be modest. Help others in need when possible. Someone who is petty and pugilistic isn't worth anything to me.

I use to believe that...I was very vain, thought I couldn't go on with out physcial beauty.---when I got married and 2 babies later my husband loves my stretch marks and all...and would have it no other way. He sees these marks as womanly and reminds him of the awesome gift of a children that I gave to him and he loves me no less even after some weight gain and physical changes. The fact that he loves me in spite of the changes helps me to like me and not be so hard on myself.

Because it is terribly difficult for us to look inside the person to see what is really there. That takes more time then we are willing to spare in this time of instant gratification.

In fact, they aren't. My top rating goes to intelligence. Which is why I sought (and found) wife through Mensa.
