Hide it somewhere outside of your house...
Put it in a plastic baggie (to protect it from rain) and tie it to a tree branch, or hide it in a bush in your yard...
Or buy a roll of yarn, and after each time you write it in, wrap the whole thing up with lots of yarn, tying complicated knots everywhere...if she really wants to read it, she'll have to cut the yarn, and then you'll know that she's read it.
You can cut the yarn when you're ready to write it in again..and then wrap/tie it up again.

Kick her butt! No seriously...You didn't say how old the two of you are but everytime she looks at it take something of hers and hide it or 'lose' it or oops did I really spill that on your favorite shirt?? Eventually she will figure out that when she gets in to your stuff it's going to cost her. Then ask your parents to tell her to stay out of it. You could also plant some juicy stuff in there about her....anything bad that you know she did, or it could even be something you heard she did...write about how you are struggling about deciding whether to tell your parents what she did or not, then say if she wasn't such a nosey brat and didn't go through my diary I might feel like I could keep her secrets but since she does I think I'm going to tell. You could also make a fake diary, 'hide' it let her find it and think she's seeing the real thing, hide the real one even better (make a pocket under a dresser and slip it in there) she'll think she found it and won't look any further. Just make sure she never sees the real one. LOL.

Keep it in a locked box. Not those with cheapy brass keys like they use on luggage. Keep a decoy and after awhile write that a certain freind of hers told you something in confidence about her. (don't let on what it is exactly) but make it sound like you don't know if you should tell you parents about it or not.
When she confronts you say "you should not read my Diary" and leave it at that. She will then most likely confront her freind. The freind may even ask you and say she said nothing. Now tell the freind "You asked me never to tell so if you are trying to prove I cannot keep my word it will never work" and leave.
This should cause quite a stir between them. Once they hate each other keep writing thing in the decoy like you are still talking to her freind. This should throw her over the edge. Then say "you would't have this problem if you kept your nose out of other peoples things!

Wow, does this take me back! My sister not only read it, she told my mother all the embarassing details! (By the way, her name was also Rosie). I finally convinced her to leave it alone by enlisting my mom's assistance and coming up with a total fabrication that she attempted to spread around the family and the school (very small school too). My mother confronted her about her 'lies' and that was the end of that. Good luck. In today's world, I would go with an electronic diary and never let her guess the lock code! Make is something totally out there that only you would know.

Find a real good hiding place for your real one, then keep another one and write loads of stuff about her everyday in the one you leave around for her to find, she will get so self obsessed with reading what you are writing about her she shouldn't be bothered with the other one, and she should soon confront you about what you are saying and then you can have it out with her.
Or maybe invest in a lock up box or a briefcase with a lock so she can't get to it.
Failing that beat her with it!! HARD!!

Get a decoy diary, write small entries in it and keep it under the mattress or wherever she thinks is "your spot" to keep it. Then, get another diary thats the real deal and dont ever let her see it. keep it with you or only write in it in private. Keep it in a pocket of a shirt or jacket you have hanging in the back of your closet, or in the bathroom, and have a long talk with her about respect and privacy.

Make a fake diary and put it in your drawer and keep the other one some where else and she will think she just read your real diary.

Hide it somewhere totally random in the house that she would never expect to find it. Or keep a journal on your computer that needs to have a password in order to access it. Good Luck

Simple, don't keep a diary. OR, you can keep it on your computer in a Word document with a password.
