I have really bad posture, I am only 16, but it looks like I am an old man. I dont want to have back problems later in life. My back does not hurt though, it feels really fine, but weird when I try to stand up stright.

How should I stand up? How should my neck be compared to my back. Do you know any exercises that can help me? Do back braces really help, if so, would I have to wear it outside my cloths, and do they cost alot.

I want to try to nip this in the bud before it gets really bad, thank you.

Hello, I have no idea whether this will help you, but you may like to try this:
Forget about trying to stand straight. Just stand. Inhale. And while doing so, imagine your body inhaling between your legs, imagine the air going into your body between your legs and up in a straight line to the middle of your body. And then exhale. Imagine exhaling at the top of your head, pushing the air out from the middle of your body to the top of your head and beyond.
I have found that when I do this, I automatically have to stand straight because the "air" can only travel in a straight line between the inhale spot between my legs and the exhale spot at the top of my head. More than with imaginary air, I enjoy doing this with imaginary light. I breathe light in a straight line through my body. Your body is the channel for the light to pass through. Or the energy. Or whatever you would like it to be. It has to be something you like to feel passing through you. Focus on it making you feel good, and see if your body reacts by remembering what straight is all by itself.

I wish you all the best!

Sign up for some yoga classes. The easy stretching and positions are wonderful for posture, especially the spine, shoulders, hips, and knees.

Don't take this lightly! you should start going to the chiropracter. Everyone should go atleats once a week. trust me. find a really good place that is up with the times and you will be very surprised to find out what you learn about your spine and how it can affect your health and your life span.

practice walking with a book on your head. when you stand make sure that you suck in your belly and look straight. when you sit do the same thing.

when I was in high school, i have to go through this rigorous practice w/ my coach in modelling. i used to practice walking for an hour everyday wearing heels. If it doesn't help you, join a ballet class. it also helped me.
