i admire the Granny Smith or Jonathan. you like a tart, organization apple. A Jonathan isn't particularly as tart by using fact the Granny Smith, yet continues to be crisp. Yorks or Rome Beauties will artwork, too, as will Winesaps, reckoning on how candy you like it. bear in mind the caramel is amazingly candy and a extra tart apple performs against it a lot much less puzzling. do not use crimson or Golden scrumptious. they're too candy and the crimson scrumptious is in simple terms too gentle for caramel apples. Yuck.

You could make your own. Buy some carmels melt them over a double boiler as not to burn. Get some apples. Place some ice-cream sticks in the center of apple and dunk apple into carmel and place on wax paper to set up.

You can actually make your own, just buy some apples (preferably green) some caramels and crushed nuts if you like and all you gotta do is melt the caramel and then dip the apples in the caramel and then add in the nuts and then place it in the fridge and Wala ! you got yummy caramel apples. =)

Good question. I remember seeing them in Raley's before. Don't know if they still have them. For sure, Old Sac. Long trip from where you are but they have 'em.
Good luck.
