Try and relax and think about something positive in your life. Crying might also help, but take some sinus medicine first. When I'm depressed I can't sleep, either. I spend a while talking to myself (out loud if I'm alone) and give myself permission to feel this way for a certain amount of time, then I must stop and change my attitude. Sometimes it works. Go see your doctor as soon as you can because this could be a devastating illness if left untreated.

I say to you find your mate and have some wild long lasting sex a glass of your favorite wine your favorite meal a good rub down cuddle and just relax and you will sleep like a baby some times you think you are depressed but it's just where you need time alone with your lover and think only about you and him or her and you and that is something that a doctor nor meds can not fix I assure you TRY IT and see how you feel

Strange,,,,,depression normally CAUSES abnormal sleep patterns (from 6 to 8 hours out to 12 to 14 hours)
I suspect that you have a lot on your mind and its causing you to stay awake?

Well, if you are truly depressed you would not have a problem sleeping at all. Maybe you are anxious. Read a book-it will knock you out if you are already tired. Night night.

Visit a doctor. For now, drink some hot tea (chamomile) and read a boring book, like the history of economics.

Take a walk around the block, come back, and answer some questions on Yahoo! Answers. Works for me sometimes.

Try to sleep, maybe taking a rest will have you feeling better when you awaken.
