LaMotta offered Lesnevich 100 thousand dollars for a match iaround 1951, the bout never happened, both in their prime as La Motta could easily handle a middleweight, welterweight or Lt Heavyweight.

Very good matchup Stanley O. I believe that Lesnevich was a little stronger than Jake LaMotta and would not have allowed LaMotta to have bullied him. Nether fighter had a real knockout punch but that doesn't mean that there wouldn't be some good punches landed on each other. Lesnevich was able to defeat Joey Maxim and LaMotta once beat Sugar Ray Robinson so each had their share of quality opponents and wins. I believe it would have been a terrific fight with LaMotta winning the early rounds with aggressive infighting smothering the stronger Lesnevich. Lesnevich would turn the fight around and outslug LaMotta in a bruising battle capturing a split decision win!
