Drafting mmmm, many truncks kick up rocks that chip your nice car's hood and windshield, yes eventhough they have mudguards or rockguards. It is a dumb idea all around. Go in front of them instead, they'll let you now if there's danger ahead.

As a rule, I don't tailgate semi-trucks. I have, though, in the early morning hours when the trucks are really rolling; especially through the area of Florida that is hilly, the four-lane route from about 20 miles before Haines City and as far as the route to Gainesville. I've also stayed on the tail of a Greyhound bus weaving through heavy traffic. But that was years ago. I must add that my wife, who for a number of years, drove a semi-truck with her ex-husband, will now draft trucks at times. She'll also try to draft cars until I tell her to get off his butt. I don't like to have someone on my tail, so I usually give all vehicles space now.

Absolutly not, in fact I like to keep well back so that I can see past the trucks for any overtaking opportunties or at the very least just so that I have a decent braking distance. When I can no longer see the wing mirrors of the truck I increase my distance as a rule of thumb.

Not intentionally. I try not to because when I am close to a truck, I have no warning of traffic slowing ahead of the truck, and if he brakes very quickly, the back bumper bar on those trucks will decapitate me.

thats a very redneck thing to do. in california we dont do this. once i saw a semi truck run over a wheel and the car behind it smacked it hard. live and learn. the car was not far enough off the back of the semi to react in time. tough lesson learned.

No. I have a brain. I know that I can end up looking like a bug smashed on the back of one of those trucks if they decide to stop.
