I come from Southern Illinois Deer Capital of Illinois.
This device has worked here and it does work. The high pitch of this device as it goes through the wind does seem to prevent a deer run in. For the money I say yes, it does work

I did a bit of research on deer whistles. There is a website selling them.......do a search for electonic deer whistles too. There are some testimonials there as well from users of these devices.
One problem with deer whistles is that they clog up with bugs and debris from the road and the wind and the weather which prevents them from functioning properly, if at all.
Another problem is that vehicles passing or oncoming with trailers hauling live animals are startled by the deer whistles as well.
I spend many hours driving on the highways in rural Alberta, Canada and I would never "relax" and depend on any "device" to take over from my vigilence and aggressive scanning tactics in rural areas, especially during dawn and dusk time periods.
I am still considering purchasing electronic deer whistles because any help is good.

I have had many customers ask us how they hit the deer when the had the whistles on the front of the car, so I am going to say in my opinion I don't use them and I am in a rural area with a large deer population and driving slow and watch at all times has been my best bet.

Yes, installed two whistles as instructed and hit a deer in Illinois one week later.

It helps but doesn't always prevent it. You must be going over a certain speed , I think it is 30mph. It alerts deer but in their fear they still might jump in front of you. but most of the time they will go the other way.
Three times I have hit a deer, sigh, but I do see they help.

I think the deer have to be close to you before they can hear them. But it does make the stop to see what is making the sound because they are nosie by nature. So slow in areas that thay may be and look in all directions. Blowing the horn works too.
