If you have a portable DVD player bring that plus lot's of DVD's, or rent some new releases from Blockbuster or something.
As for Sault Ste Marie, there really isn't much to do there at all! There is a nice downtown part in the Michigan USA side of Sault Ste Marie with some basic everyday shops and a good fudge store, but the Canadian side is pretty boring. Shopping in (both sides) of Sault Ste Marie is basically Wal Mart and there is a mall called Station Mall, but it's just everyday stores. No Abercrombie, or anything like that. The best part is looking at the Bridge's lite up at night which is pretty neat to see.
Have fun in the wilderness.
NOTE: This is to Hilarywow, the person who posted an answer before me. Um so what if she is allowed to bring a friend? She's allowed to ask about stuff to do if she wants! I was allowed to bring a friend to London England when I was 15. Chill out!

Good places to shop are only in big cities like Toronto or Vancouver, and if your parents are going to Golais Bay for hiking and stuff, it's unlikely that there will be a nice salon or anything. My mom likes outdoorsy stuff too, so I know what it's like to be stranded in the wilderness. My suggestion would be to bring your iPods, lots of magazines, and other stuff like that. If you're friend is coming along, and you bring the right stuff, you will have fun anyways. And bring a laptop if anyone you're travelling with has one; even places in the middle of nowhere have wireless internet access. Good luck! Hope you don't die of boredom! lol

Okay, Goulais Bay isn't quite as bad as I thought it was - you won't be too far from Sault Ste. Marie which there is stuff to do. However, if you don't have a car, you're probably stuck wherever you actually are. What I'd suggest, since you want to do "girl stuff", is bring your bathing suits and your sun tan lotion. Bring some magazines and spend your days by the water. There will be lots of water around you so take advantage of it.
Hope the weather is good.

Goulais Bay is only 20 miles outside of Sault Ste. Marie, so you aren't quite in the middle of nowhere. There's great water stuff at Goulais Bay -- paddling (don't knock it till you've tried it!) swimming, tubing, etc. If you get bored with that, hop a bus into the Sault and hit the shopping malls, get your nails done or whatever.

Do a web search on Sault Ste. Marie, which is a nearby city. Research what is in the city. At a bare minimum you will find stores, restaurants, etc. Just ask your parents to drop you guys off there for the day. They should be okay with it if you have done your research and can tell them where you'll be and what you'll be doing.
By the way, I feel for ya. My parents took me camping every summer until I was 14 - it sucked!

give nature a chance...you could see some really great wildlife there. Bring books, games, make a campfire at night and tell ghost stories. Find out if there are any hot springs in the area you will be in that can be fun and relaxing.

Take a book with you. Make it a big, fat book. Maybe War and Peace. Have your friend bring a big, fat book. If you read fast enough, and you are there long enough, you may be able to read both.
