1) Productivity. Lots of Palestinians work in Israel. I heard on the news recently about a study where it was determined that so far in 2006, over 8 million working hours have been wasted by people having to wait at checkpoints to cross the borders between Israel and the Palestinian territories. If greater security and stability could be brought to the region, then people would waste a lot less time and the economy overall would be better for everyone.

2) Religious freedom. I'm not religious myself but there are sites in Jerusalem which are sacred to both jews and muslims. Everyone over there wants access to these sites, and it would make everyone happier and more satisfied in their spiritual life if it were possible for all people to come and go freely in these spots. They are arguing over who "owns" them, but I can't see any reason why anyone should be excluded. Let everyone use them. But it takes peace and security to do that. And it takes justice for there to be peace and security.

I assume you mean a permanent agreement between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

If a permanent agreement would bring peace then it would help to stabilize the entire region.

Also, having an agreement would eliminate the Palestinian conflict as an excuse for other factions to target Israel.

The two best reasons are:
1) Israelis
2) Palestinians

Neither country is going to be able to prosper until a permanent agreement is in place. And, although they are not directly involved, a permanent agreement would also prosper neighboring countries, as stability within these two groups would lead to improved trade relations and diplomatic relations.

The 1947/8 UN agreements that created the state of Israel was that agreement. Now everybody craps on the UN.

It would be easier to answer this question in the negative. The fact is they've had hundreds of "permanent agreements". The reason this doesn't work is that you can't reason with unreasonable people.

The only 'permanent agreement' the 'Palestinians' are interested in is killing the Israelis.

Prior to the establishment of Israel, the 'Palestinians' didn't know what a 'Palestinian' was.
