There is one very powerful prayer that during the Crusades a Christian king carried a copy of it on his person and prayed it every day. He lead his men into many bloody battles but never lost a single battle. It is said that if we pray this prayer in faith every day, and also keep a copy of it close to us, that it has never been known to fail.
St. Joseph was the foster father of Jesus on earth, as Jesus' real father was God the Father in Heaven. St. Joseph raised Jesus and taught him the trade of carpentry, and, right before Jesus went out to begin his three year ministry Joseph died in the arms of Jesus. Jesus was God and yet he loved, honored and obeyed his parents Joseph and Mary while he was here on earth. Oh, that we could all die in the arms of Jesus. What a wonderful thought.

Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ , Our Lord. So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers. Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls---Pray for me.
Say this for 9 mornings for anything you may desire. It has never been known to fail, so be sure you really what what you ask.
I have said this prayer for many years and it works. Be sure to say it reverently.

Prayer to Saint Joseph, Patron of a Happy Home
Dear Saint Joseph, God the Father chose you from all men to be the husband of Mary and the foster father of Jesus. You cared thoughtfully and wholeheartedly for them while on Earth. It was through you Jesus first learned of His Heavenly Father's gentleness, compassion, protection, and provision. So close were you that He was known simply as the Carpenter's son.
We now ask your help in these our requests. Please intercede before our Heavenly Father for His protection, provision and peace. Help us sell our home and find a new one, suitable for our needs.
Grant us harmony and grace in our home, and may we be ever hospitable to family, friends and neighbors.

YES> it is good that we ask saints to pray for us, just like we ask friends or family to pray for us. Yet, saints are in heaven and have won god's (Jesus') acceptance so God is more willing to listen to the saints who are in heaven>

Thou shalt have no gods before me? Aren't you idol worshipping or at least praying to someone other than god? why go through an intermediary when you could pray directly to god. does your saint take messages?
