thieves target them because
a) they are so common, they can easily blend in and it's hard for cops to catch or identify them
b) hondas and toyotas are notorious for being the easiest to break into and hotwire. they have cheap, lousy locks.
most difficult to break into car that has the best quality locks are BMWs and Mercedes and Cadillacs.
