I was diagnosed 10 years ago and I have already changed my diet, I exercise as much as I can but not too often. I think my problem is that my mind works 100 miles a minute and even when I'm in bed at night it takes forever to fall asleep because I think too much. First thing in the morning I'm back at it and I can't seem to control it. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and if you have any hobbies to control it?

maybe go fishing. that is pretty relaxing. or you can take walks, do some crafts, or try yoga or pilates. I heard that is suppose to be good for exercise and for your mind. You could even try meditation. Whatever you do take time out for yourself. Try not to do to many things at once. Give yourself a break every once in a while.

Find something that relaxes you...

-walk in the park
-scrapbooking
-read a book
-gardening
-make jewelry (if you are really crafty)
-get a dog (one that is a lap dog that you can pet and will listen easily)

I work in a hospital, and I actually had a man come in the other day with a service dog... I noticed he wasn't deaf or blind, and I couldn't recognize any other disability he had, so I asked him what the dog was for... THe dog was a stress relief dog. Everytime the man got upset or anxious, the dog would jump on his lap, and he would pet the dog until he was okay again. This man was previously in and out of the hospital with chest pain and high blood pressure at least once every 2 weeks. Since he has gotten this dog, he has not been back (this has been over 10 months) (oh yeah, he was visiting, not the patient)

Try stamp collecting! It's what Franklin D. Roosevelt used to relieve stress during World War II, and stress doesn't get much worse than that! To get started, browse around www.stamps.org.

PLEASE LISTEN, you may think this is a joke but what you have to do is sleep for a very long time and put on your favorite music.
