Yes, in domestic US flights. Flights in and out of the UK all electronics are banned in carry ons as well. Here's the TSA link.

Yes, but it might get wiped clear if it goes through the xray. I bet if we wait long enough ipods and dvd players and such will be banned too - once a terrorist tries to blow a plane up using electronic devices.

Some airlines won't allow ipods,cell phones or computers check web sites. A clear bag for carry on.

Not since two days ago which is a bummer if you've got a long flight on the cards. You can put it in your hold luggage though.

yes you can. can't use it during the ascent or descent but you can use it once crusing altitude has been reached. don't worry about the xray machine zapping your songs either. won't happen as I've done it many times without incident

i don't think you. since the terror threats, lots of airlines have banned all electricals. i'm not completely sure now, but i know that yesterday, ipods weren't allowed. :s
