well a good part of Baltimore is crime ridden...but around Inner Harbor/Fells Point area its nice...but expensive since the waterfront is being built up....condo's going for in the 500k at some of the best places..even in those areas you need to watch out at night..and law enforcement isnt the best either if youre into being harrassed...just read local paper on the lovely police dept...I do live in Maryland but about 30 minutes outside of it and hubby works in the city...I used to work in the city and couldnt wait for the end of my shift so I didnt have to be on the streets...worked 911...
If youre thinking of moving there you might want to consider living on the out skirts of the city...there are plenty of nice towns etc that are a stones throw to city attractions...and theres plenty of public transportation that goes into the city from all outer areas of it

The inner harbor is really nice. A lot of young people college age and /or under 35 years old. A lot of places to drink, eat and hang out. By the baseball park is nice too. apartments with parking are a must if you have a car. Security is important if you live alone.
