I was hit by a drunk driver, dragged 300 feet under the truck while riding a bicycle home from school. I was clinically dead on the 4th day after the accident and had a near death experience. I barely survived... with borderline brain activity that came and went three times. I was comatose for 22 days. It took me three years to walk again... and am fortunate enough to write this commentary to you.
You will at first fear dying. Your body can't breathe and you scream in your head and want to flail your arms to breathe but your body does not respond.
Afterwards... you will have two paths. A tunnel towards light. For me that tunnel seemed about ten miles long and a mile wide with misty white light at the end. I was stopped midway in the tunnel and asked if I was ready to die now. I looked down and could see my family crying in the waiting room somehow. I said "No, I am needed" and then I thought I woke up.
Death is peaceful I really did not want to leave.
The other path leads to a dark resting place called "Sheol" in Hebrew. It is a place where people go to wait for judgment. Christians are judged already for the deeds they have done wrong and are forgiven. Those who are not... will be accountable for their words and deeds. Whereas Christians are going to be rewarded according to what they did right... and not what they did wrong. You can find all this stuff in the Book of Romans 6-8.
So if your afraid of dying... you need not fear if your a Christian... but if your not sure of your destiny then you need to make sure you have peace with the Lord first.

Nope. Happens to me all the time.
Welcome to the Long Dark Night of the Soul.
If anything, take the knowledge that you are mortal as the spur to make every last second of your life count for something. Make no gesture empty; waste no words; make each thought a glorious and shining example of the human mind at work.
Strive to be the very flower of humanity, in your mayfly existence.
Have fun. :) Good luck.

I think it's better to die in your sleep, because you won't suffer that much. I'm not afraid of dying... just afraid of how much time i will have left to do the things i want to do.

Your not asleep when your dead, your not in there anymore. Even though I have a great life here on earth, I know that when my time comes I'm gonna take my last deep breathe and dive right into the next one. LLTTF (live life to the fullest)

Nope, not retarded, but, my question of you is, of course, are you saved?
If you have accepted Jesus as your saviour, and have been baptized, you don't have to fear dying because, when you die, you'll be in heaven and happy.
