not to offend anyone but who would agree with me when I say that our worldwide renowned religion of christianity was established and continues to establish itself by murder, war and violence? A perfect example of that is when the europeans settled in North America and forced their religion and own beliefs upon the indigenous people of North America and as well as the rest of the world. Other people in their own native lands had no use for christianity since they had already been practicing their own spiritual or religions beliefs for many many years. As history tells it anyone who wasn't a christian or did not become a christian was persucuted, punished or looked upon as a inferior product of the generations current civilization. So wouldn't it be safe to say that ALONG WITH THE CROSS THAT WAS GIVEN TO PEOPLE THE BLODDY SWORD WAS ALSO GIVEN? With that in mind wouldn't you say that the establishment of this christianity heavily contradicts itlelf?

I think that Christianity (along with most other religions) is a religion of peace. The teachings themselves are wonderful and positive, however over the years, they have been twisted for political and patriarchal power. There are contradictions in most philosophies, and Christianity is no example. I like to think of history in general as an outward spiral: we repeat the same motions but gain a larger understanding by learning from our mistakes once they are repeated. Sadly, many have manipulated Christianity to make it negative, and for that reason I do not subscribe to it.

Christianity is about peace. It's about love, gentleness, and putting others first. To do a study on humanity, this would be where you should go to see why people kill and destroy. Christianity doesn't do these things, people do. Any time people are involved with anything, much of the time it gets twisted, because this is what people do.
To think that God left the Gospel in our hands, is mind boggling, since we mess up everything that we touch, but this is the plan He knew He wanted.
There will always be someone in the church, in the lawyers office, in the doctor's office, in your place of work that will take a rule and twist it around to where it shouldn't be, this is human nature and it's sad isn't it? But this is not Christianity. There will always be people in the church who say they're Christians, and they aren't and they're evil instead, but they always get found out.So blame the killing and tortures on mankind not on Christianity. These men couldn't have been true Christians and done such things, even if they said they were. This is not God's way, He was not approving.

You are mis-guided.

What happened to the American Indians is not defensible, but it was NOT the result of any Vatican quest to kill them in the name of God.

There have been men in all faiths that have not followed God. Look at the Spanish Inquisition, that was a case where the people in the faith did not follow it. Look at all of the other wars in the history of the world, look at all of the hate in some Religions now, none of that is of God, it is of MEN

Christians have learned from our past, we are not out converting by the sword, there are no oppressive fundamental Christian Authority governments killing it's people in the name of Jesus.

You can't blame Christianity for the things that governments do. The people within the country will elect new leaders.

Nothing that Jesus taught was consistent with killing people, he could have raised an army and defeated his opponents if he wanted to, he is the son of God. But he came here to fulfill the new Covenant and to show us a better way to live and respect each other. We are to pray for and love our enemies.

So, in short, the problem is not with Jesus, it never is, Jesus is the PERFECT example that God gave us. The problem is with Men who are weak and have problems following him.

Peace!

Rizzell,

If you want to know how God feels about religion, read the first chapter of Isaiah. The religions of men, are an abomination to God. In the New Testament, it says that true religion, is visiting the widows and orphans (relieving their suffering). Religion, and I mean ALL religions, are the attempts of men, to capitolize on God's love of mankind. God has allowed religion to exist, because it served the purpose of reminding us that He exists. As our race has evolved, our religions have evolved with us. It is pretty apparent, that the age of religion, is coming to an end. ALL religions. God, is tired of these overpaid underachievers masquerading as His representiatives. They do not enter into His Kingdom, and they prevent others from doing so. There are a handful of clergy, who are actually Spirit filled Children of God. They are very rare. God doesn't have denominations, or churches. He has children. You don't need any religious practitioners, to enter into an eternal relationship with our Father. Church membership, is not required. Belonging to a particular faith, is unnecessary. God, has been waiting for each one of us, since the day we were born. When we come to Him as humble children, and invite Him into our hearts, He sends His Spirit into us, and bonds with us. We become new creatures, part mortal, part Immortal. The old values of materialism and fear, fall away. Love and Wisdom, become the foundations of all our choices. We have embarked on the Path of Eternity, and we will never be the same again. After the Religious War is over, our race will hopefully come to it's senses. Religion is an abomination in God's eyes. When Jesus came to the Earth, He attacked only one group of people. Religious hypocrites. God's loving Spirit, unites His Children in the bonds of love. Religion, divides and kills us. We will all be better off, when we have long forgotten it altogether.

they believe contained in the shown actuality that in the adventure that they proceed to apply God as a co-pilot they are going to proceed to fool the persons. i don't believe of any of those applicants are actual Christians and larger than 1/2 that walk round has ever even been kept. there's a recognition for that...Carnal Christians is the call of that sport. Even an evangelical Pastor admitted as a lot. they're drained of the GOP utilizing them as a wedge to break different electorate.

Absolutely.

You've got christians protesting funerals of gay people and blowing up abortion clinics. Plus, as you'll find, many christians say that the only thing keeping them from sinning and breaking all the commandments, is the fear of god.

Atheists are good people because we want to be, not because we think a magical sky fairie is going to punish us.

Men who practice Christianity in outragous, intolerant ways contridict Christianity. The practice of true Christianity does not contridict itself.

what's interesting to note is that the majority of torture devices known today were not created from monsters like Hitler, Mussolini or Ivan the Terrible. it was religious priests and their cohorts who devised many of the most cruelest forms of torture devices known to man. Obviously this gets overlooked in the broad scope of Christianity
