There may be some sectarian Christians who may be attempting to avoid showing any flesh in public by refraining from swimming in public pools, scantily clad, but the biblical scriptures do not state that bathing suits, exposing one's arms, legs, neck or face in public is against the laws of Jesus Christ. There is general agreement that the male and female genitals and buttocks and the breasts of women should be covered in public to show modesty and spiritual concernment.

I don't know where you got that idea. But for me personally I don't like other people's germs. I have heard that kids go potty in those pools and there are people who never take showers or clean themselves. I am a germaphobic, I really don't like sharing public facilities restrooms and buffets, and pools. Wherever there is a lot of people, I don't want to use the stuff they use. If they sneeze on the food at the Buffet restuarants, or forget to wash their hands in the bathroom or do other disgusting things, than I'm not interested in sharing.

I've never heard of that, the only thing that makes me not want to swim in a public pool sometimes is when there's too much chlorine, or that disturbing discoloration of the water...okay, and I admit, the big old guys in itty bitty speedos is kind of a turn off too.

There are some extreme Fundamental churches that believe that, I think their theory behind it is lust of the flesh. One example, a girl can walk down the street in a string bikini and it is ok, but if she were to walk down the street in her bra and under ware, which would probably cover more of her body, she would be arrested. Go figure, I see nothing wrong with it if a person is a good Christian they will keep in mind that they are to be modestly dressed.

ive never heard of cristians saying that, but if its true, maybe its because of the germs, many people use community swimming pools, ive heard some say the actually urinate in them, spit in them, and blood comes out of any scratches too. in the right temperatures, bacteria can develop rapidly. but scince theyre so common and cleaned frequently i dont think there's much chance of that.

Hey, if someone had shrunk my wee-wee by cutting a piece of it off, I wouldn't be too keen to swim in a public pool.
