Whatever you do, don't lie to him. By lying to him your friendship will be off to a rocky start. Tell him that you don't have feelings for him and you don't want to be in a relationship with someone you don't care about. Tell him you want to be friends with him cause he seems like a great guy and you want to get to know him better. DON"T tell him that you can't go out w/ older guys (it won't work cause eventually you will and he'll find out), or that you just don't want a bf right now (cause whenever you say that someone almost always spots you flirting w/ another guy and word gets back to him). Be careful and good luck.

Speaking form experience, I don't think there is any way to remain friends. Maybe in the future you can become friends again. Just come out and tell him. There is no easy way. Just say you like him just as a friend, and that's it. He will be hurt no matter what you say, even if he doesn't want to show it. The best thing you can do is not lead him on. Remaining friends will always give him a little hope he will someday be your boyfriend. Poor guy. Good luck.

Best bet is to just be honest and tell him that you think you feel you'd be better off as friends. Feed him the line..." I value our friendship too much to start a relationship with you" (or something of that nature)

There's no easy way out of turning someone down. Just say no. Sure, it'll hurt him and then hurt you....that's the only reason ppl lie...for selfish reasons. It's useless. Just tell him you'd rather remain friends.

Talk about being between a rock and a hard place...no matter what you tell him, his mind is going to say "WHY DOESN'T SHE WANT ME?" You could always pass the buck & suggest a friend of yours, but then they might not speak to you again. I suggest that you TRY to explain why you don't like this person, however hard it may be, and give VALID reasons why. He MIGHT believe you...

Keep it short and simple; tell him you value the friendship but that you just don't have any romantic feelings for him. At the same time, stroke his ego a bit and tell him that he would be more compatible with another type of girl.

Tell him, "your a really great guy, but your to old for me, and i dont think we can ever be more than just friends." Then smile really nice, give him a friendship hug, and walk away. DONT look back. That would be bad

just be honest with him and tell him that you dont feel the same way about him the way he does about you... and that it will never work out if you two dont share the same mutual feelings with one another. Tell him that you would much rather be his feriend then not know him at all
