I can take a punch. But you never want to take too many of them if you know what I mean. Lennox Lewis was known for his glass jaw but still overcame it and held the title for some time.

I used to be able to take a good punch when I boxed and I never hit the canvas but yeah you definetly want to avoid getting hit. Rocky Marciano was floored only twice in an undefeated career and I believe that Ali was only knocked down three times so they could take a punch. Great champion Joe Louis got knocked down quite a few times in his great career and so did Floyd Patterson. When it comes down to it anyone can get knocked down if they get in the way of a terrific punch!

Taking a good punch is a essential part of boxing. You cannot train your jaw to take a good punch, you can learn to roll with a punch (Ala, Roberto Duran) but you can't learn to take a punch
(Ala, Floyd Patterson)Either you have a jaw or you don't. I've had well over 100 amateur fights and never went down, but I think there's a down side to being able to take a good punch, you take more of them knowing that you can't be hurt so you'll stay in there just a little longer than your suppose to, you'll trade punches hoping to land the perfect shot. As the years pass, you'll slowly see the effects of those punches (ala Pugilistic Dementia...brain damage)

I have took many ridicously hard punches, kicks, knees, and elbows to head. I got KOed only twice, once by a kick I never saw coming, was out cold for a while and second one by a female professional boxing champion but I got up right after getting knocked out.

IT DEPENDS ON WHO'S THROWING THE PUNCH! IF LENNOX COULD READ WHAT U SAID ABOUT HIM HAVING A GLASS JAW.....HMM I THINK HE'D MAKE YOUR JAW FEEL LIKE A LIGHT BULB HITTING THE CONCRETE GROUND
