Be proud of you Dad he did his job in the Marines, He is proud of what he did. You can tell people if they do not like it, than just do not say anything. If you are proud of your DAD that all that matte res.

Snipers are required to kill from cover, the target is unaware.... usually. It takes nerve, a cool head, and expert marksmanship. USA Snipers are cool, they save lives while out there, alone or in a small team, risking their lives. If spotted, they might be in a bad situation, depends...

If the guys are intimidated, maybe they have something in mind that your father would not approve of for his daughter.

The guys are afraid of your dad not necessarily because of his job. It could be any tough type of job that would scare them not necessarily a sniper. :-) Personally, your right I think it's cool.

Look on the bright side you may not realize it but it might be a good thing that some of these guys get scared off. Your dad's background will help keep some of the less desireables out of your dating opitions. :-)

There is a special mystery about special forces and snipers. These guys definitely have killed people. That's their reason for being. So, nonmilitary people will fear them. I've had guys try to date my daughter, see me in uniform (before I retired) and actually back off, and I was in aircraft maintenance and haven't fired a weapon off the range since Nam

There is nothing wrong with your father, the issues you have are related to what seems to be your poor choice of character as related to the males that you choose as associates!

If a male has a problem with meeting your parents, drop him! NOW!!

Up front, your father is not going to stand for one iota of the
disrespect and vulgarity, that is all too often on display in our society today.

Too call it like it is, in on the Block language, The fear is in the understood, "AS@ Woopen", should a negative deal go down. and your father ain't take no for a answer!

Losers cannot deal with that!

So smile, hug your father tight and tell the rest, "Don't go away mad, I you can't hack it, Git the *&^%$ outa your face!

I know where your dad is coming from. I'm like him with my daughter and she is 23 and in the Air Force, 2md LT.

Why is it intimidating? Come on now.

I too would be scared of trying to get your panties off with your dad being a marine/sniper.

Then daddy is doing his job. You will understand when you have a daughter of your own. Your husband will turn into a very protective monster who will kill anything that would hurt his little girl. Your dad is just weeding out the jerks for you.

Marines are notoriously good marksmen. having been a sniper means two things; he is a very good shot, and he is very very very patient and waits for the right time to strike. this fears many men. not me though. you free tonight?

If you think that snipers are cool. Ask your dad how many soldiers, maybe his friends, die from enemy snipers shots. Sniper is a horryfing killer and being one of them is not a good reason to boast. No matter how many lives were rescued by his duty his conscience has to deal with deaths of his victims. Snipers are ones of the most effective soldiers in killing. Death from them is mostly quick and without pain. However I know that sometimes they use their aiming abilities to lover morale of enemy by slow killing shot by shot, leting other soldiers to see it and feel powerlessness. War is a place where our true, hidden evil reveal his face. I hope your dad is not the way most of people you met are thinking. Its wrong to juge people without knowing them better.
