I am in love with being in love and I can't seem to find a way out of a relationship that I have been in for a few months. I have realized this person is not the one I want to be with for the rest of my life but he keeps telling me that our love will grow. I have tried so hard to tell him that it is not about him it's me...but he still won't let go. What other words could I use to tell him that I need to move on? Please don't be mean because he is a wonderful man, just not the man for me....Thanks

Tell him that some decisions in life effect the ones you love most and are made the ones that know best. Tell him that you have decided that you need to move on, not because of anything he has done, but b/c it's the best decision for you at this point and time in your life. Love lost , is love earned

You can't be with someone out of pity no matter how good or nice he might be. You have to end it and real soon. The longer it goes the more impossible the situation will get. Just tell him that you need space and that he is smothering you. Tell him that you appreciate him and what he is feeling but that you aren't capable of returning emotions this intense at this point of your life. I hope you appreciate the fact that you can't remain friends either. He is too into you. When you are dumping him, do it in a public place where he can't cause a scene. This will make it a lot easier for both of you. You won't be embarrassed by his reaction and he won't be ashamed of anything he's done in long run. I hope this works out for you.

Tell him how wonderful he is and explain to him that he deserves someone who loves him and is interested in spending the rest of their life with him and tell him I do not have those feelings for you and I don't think that it is fair to me and it is certainly not fair to you. I have enjoyed the time we have spent together but I don't think we should see each other anymore I'm sorry but I can't help the way I feel. Good Luck if he doesn't get off your back then maybe a restraining order is the answer to your question

Seems he'll have to showed rather than told. Explain to him once again in a nice way then walk away from the situation. You'll have to show him by not going out with him anymore and maybe even going as far as not excepting his calls. Sounds mean don't it ?. Sometimes this is what has to be done. He'll get over this eventually and thank you for it later. Just be nice.

Wow, that's a tough one. But props to you for being so mature about it. I think I'd pour my heart out in a letter. That way you can say everything you're feeling without interruptions or influences. Be very direct and at the end tell him that you don't want to be with him anymore. Don't leave any room for negotiation, and then give it to him. Good luck.

Bring to this attention the fact that if his love you is THAT deep then he should consider your feelings. He needs to realize that he is being selfish in containing you in a relationship that you obviously have no interest in being in; that's not love. In other words, if he truly loved you and wanted you to be happy, then he would let you go. If all else fails; restraining order.

Tell him some day he'll find the woman that he will spend the rest of his life with- but it isn't you.
If he still won't let go then you'll have to say It's over and ignore his calls and stuff.

I would just tell him that you did not love him you were in lust with him. If that does not work tell him you care for him like a brother and not a boyfriend and that type of love does not grow into a relationship.

You honestly need to be a little harsh. Just say what you wrote and then end it. Don't go telling him about all of his good qualities or why you liked him because that will just give him hope that your relationship can be saved.
You don't have to be mean, just firm. Okay?

Best of Luck

If he is a wonderful man, then quit stringing him along. Tell him bluntly that it is over. It will hurt but he will live. I am not trying to be mean and this may be hard but there is no easy way to reject someone. Luck!
