This is what started my anxiety forty-years ago. I was going with my girl-friend and her mother and I had a small spat, and she told me not to come back to see Barbara. This is what I did. Behind their house was about two hundred yards of woods, and then another road. What I did was go up there one day and at the back of their house was two hundred yards of woods, I got a "kite" string, or strings, and went about three foot into the woods and tied one end of the string to a tree and walked toward the house. I tied the other end to another tree about three foot from their backyard. It was the dead of winter. So here I go, park my '57 chev. on the road and start to follow the string to her bedroom. Yes, she was waiting on me, and the window was open. I will never forget climbing in and she had on flannel PJ's
No we did not have sex as I was about to have an heart attack. She was giggling. After about fifteen-minutes of some good loving, or petting I should say; the trash can that she placed in the hall from her parents bedroom was knocked over. Yes, by her dad I would suppose. I got underneath the covers, and she placed many pillows, and bears on top of me in case he came in. I have always wandered why he did not come in and question her about the can in the hallway. After not breathing for about five minutes I told Barbara I got to get out of here. I left through the window. Here is the kicker. I found the string behind her house but about half way through the woods I heard dogs coming, and coming fast. Yes the string broke and I ran for all I had. When I came to the street I did not know if I was behind the car, or if it was in front of me. Luckily I walked down the road and seen my car. Why I did not have an Heart attack I will never know. I bet till this day that that string is still there. It has been forty-six years ago. I will see one day....I go there on occassion as she was "killed" right after this in Dallas, Georgia, and I still visit her grave site, along with her parents grave. I have left many cards, letters, and signed it " Barbara remember our first date"..You were special and I have never forgotten. I will see you on the "Flip-Side".. Rody_o
