I've always been told that 1 year in human years = 7 years in dog years. So if the dog is 2 yrs old in human years it is 14 years old in dog years. :)

Saying an animal's life ratio is 1:7 without taking into consideration all sorts of other issues is ridiculous. The smaller a dog breed is, the longer it will live. Larger breeds have more strain on their hearts and bones and die much earlier than smaller breeds. An average age for a small dog is 20 years (this is about the same for cats). An average age for a large dog is 10 years. A great dane doesn't live much past 8. So if the total life span of your breed of dog is equal to 100 years, if you have a large dog, they live at a ratio of 1:10. If you have a small dog their ratio is 1:5.

Forget the old 7 years = 1 year theory! He's about 20 years old. A two year old dog is fully mature. After that it varies depending on the breed. Big dogs don't live as long as little dogs. A twelve year old lab would be like an 80 year old man, but a 16 year old poodle would be an eighty year old man.

Simple, If a dog is, say 1, it feels 7 years older, so 1 x 7= 7, so in dog years (cause that's how old they feel) the dog is 7. Since ur dog is 2, and it feels 7 years older, we take 2 x 7 = 14, so in dog years (cause that's how old they feel) ur dog is 14, Oh, dear, ur dog is in the teens area, watch out for mood swings and moody days! Lol, j/k. * ^_^ *

14 it's 7 yr for every one human yr
so if your dog is 2 yr in human yr it's 14 in dog yr every time your dog gets a yr older add 7 to it for dog yr
esample he turns 3 he will be 21 in dog
7+7+7= 21
