Problem is you need energy with your job so you crave carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates give you energy, which is stored as glycogen in your liver. When you need an energy boost your liver releases glycogen. Sugar is different, you get an energy rush straight away and you sort of get addicted to it!
There is no real alternative to chocolate. The taste really is addictive. But the benefit of sugar and the chocolate flavour only lasts a short time which is why you feel you need to eat them through the day.
I'd really suggest that you don't try to quit eating chocolate altogether, just treat yourself to a bar in the evening when you sit and watch t.v.
When you're at work you need complex carbs like pasta, potatoes, bananas and oats (e.g. flapjack). None of those taste sweet and your mouth won't get the sugar rush you're used to so you're going to need some willpower. A pasta pot or some potato salad and a chicken and pasta salad, followed by a banana and some cereal bars will do you more good in the long run, but at first you're going to miss the chocolate so just grit your teeth and do it!

If you have any loved ones, friends, etc. that depend on you or love you, think about how they would feel if you were in a hospital because your arteries got clogged up even though you were skinny with just a lil belly you could carry well. My father was healthy as can be on the outside but I spent two weeks in the hospital while he was in ICU wondering if my last memories of him would be on a respirator and swollen three times his size because he just had a quadruple bypass surgery. I don't know what took longer the 30 minutes he was being flown to a better hospital because he was so close to death or the 6 hours he was in heart surgery. Ask yourself what takes longer, eating a biscuit n some cake or getting over the death of a loved one.

stop stop stop and listen!!!keep on telling yourself that its not good for you and then in the end you will be happy with the results. Maybe have a donut for breakfast and then some orange juice without any added sugar, and a smoothie or toast or... bagels with cream cheese, they are good, i prefer onion bagels...mmmmm delish!! If you can do 50 sit ups, 10 push ups and jog a little each morning every day then that alone will make you feel healthy and fit. If you are sick then try eating grits, cream of wheat(farina), toast, white rice with a little bit of butter and salt on it. Also bananas are great for energy they have alot of potassium in them and they are light. If you can get some vegetables, fruit, fiber, and calcium into your diet then heck yeah go ahead and eat donuts know that doesn't mean to just stuff your mouth with them be responsible and eat 2-3 donuts. I mean if I'm 13 years old and know this stuff then you'll get it. Well ask more questions if you need any more help with anything else and I'll try my best to answer them when I can. Good Luck with the dieting!!!

If you can make yourself stop eating like crap for 3 weeks, it should be easier after that. Start eating some fruits and vegetables when you're hungry. I know it's hard to do. I struggle with the same thing. Find snack foods that are lower in calories and fat like pretzels instead of potato chips. Apples have natural sugar in them so opt for an apple instead of a candy bar. A granola bar with chocolate chips in it would be better than a candy bar if you need something to ease off of the chocolate.

Good luck!

it sounds very much like your blood sugar levels are horrendously out of balance it would account for your cravings and energy fluctuations. I guess you also have a racing heart sometimes, mood swings, sleepyness in the afternoon and problems with your guts?
Rather than trying to replace the sweet stuff, (it never works as soon as you say it's forbidden you want it more) sort out the underlying problem in your diet - your blood sugar levels. Go to your local library or use the internet to research the Gi diet. This will stabilise your blood sugar and prevent the cravings. In the short term if you really need to snack on sweet things bake a batch of sweet potatoes and eat them instead, keep them in your fridge or lunch box for a quick fix

1)Get a second opinion from a doctor after a full physical exam with blood work, you probably have stuff you don't know killing you slowly but need to rehab those issues NOW. 2)Take the test on RealAge.com and share the results with people who love you. I was in your place 20 years ago and was shocked by the results and made the changes so I could be here to answer your question. Good luck, take and live long.

and you wont put on weight with that, cos you can start off with some chocolate, **** it out eat it, **** it out eat it and so on, youll never have to buy food again. The only thing is i dont know how long it keeps its chocolatey taste, well you can try it anyway.

First, do not skip breakfast, infact eat a high protien breakfast and that really will help your body to have less cravings. Eat high protien snacks throughout the day, like raw almonds, low fat cheese and yogurt. Also, make sure you are getting enough sleep. Sleep deprevation leads your body to be more prone to craving attacks!

Buy more "sweet" fruits and veggies. You don't have to cut out all the stuff you like- just take in in moderation. Try and switch other things in your diet to "lower calorie" to help. Change your whole diet and that will help too.
