I didnt know christians were against the Hijab? I know many catholic churches express the Hijab in a different way... like the Habits of the Nuns.

A hijab is meant to show modesty to cover the "Aurat", so modern people wear scarves or veils or hats to church... Those sunday hats are so cheerful and happy... that is EXACTLY how going to church should feel... not as if we are goingto a funeral...lol

(P/s: for those who don't know... A Hijab is a head cover to veil one's hair from public view, where only husband and family can see ... its a symbol of respect and modesty )

Mary is drawn that way because in her culture that is what women wore. Christianity isn't against hejab, it is just that we do not require it. Instead, Christians teach that a woman is to dress modestly in her culture. We do not spell out specifics, but if a woman is in a muslim culture where it is disgraceful for a woman to not dress hejab, we would advise a woman to wear hejab clothing in order to be modest in her culture.

In america where women wear tight pants and clothing showing their breasts, "modesty" is considered to be not showing cleavage and having a skirt down to the knee.

It is relative but the point is to be modest in the culture that you are in, even if that means wearing more than you want to wear!

If I were in a muslim country, I would dress according to hejab in order to be modest.

First of all, who ever said that "Christians are against hijab"? Secondly, why would you call Mary, Mother of God "miss Marie"? And thirdly, Mary was a Hebrew. All Middle Eastern women covered their heads back in the day and a lot of them still do today.

Not all Christians are. If you are truly happy with it I for one have no problem. I am a Catholic Christian and personally don't understand why Christians seem to have abandoned modesty as a virtue.
