The HIV virus came from a mutation of a simian retrovirus which infected people in Africa in the 1950's.
The virus spread during the late 1970's around the globe and became an epidemic in the 1980's.

Yeah, it is a conspiracy theory. Plain and simple.
The "complexity" of the virus is not any more confusing than any other retro virus known to man.
In fact we know A LOT about HIV. Because so much funding has been put into it.
The same way your DNA can be used to link you to a crime, we can trace the DNA of the virus to follow it's family tree. We know where it originated from, When it made the jump from lower primates to humans, and just recently (last year or so) scientists have located some droppings in the jungle that belong to the closest relative to the origional chimp that spread the disease to humans in the first place. (The disease is not lethal in the carrier animal, it was probably spread to humans when it was consumed as bush meat, The butchering process is often quite crude.)
The general population often makes assumptions about what is possible in science because it "all seems like magic" to them. So if you don't really know what a virus looks like or does, it might as well be magic, and some wizard in a tower can easily "whip on up".
The truth is that the technology to get currently EXISTING viruses to "self assemble" is just starting. We DO NOT have the ability to create new viruses currently. So for HIV/AIDS to have been created 20+ years ago is quite a stretch. Virology was a new field back then.
The facts are that viruses are made of physical matter, just like cells, and tissues, and organs are. They cannot be "magically" created.
A basic virus is DNA covered in a protein coat. The reason why scientists debate as to if Viruses are alive or not is that they need a host cell to reproduce. They are basically a "cellular paracite".

A yes and a no. You see HIV the disease that causes aids. Is a mutation from SIV in chimpanzees.
The two most probable causes is 1 humans ate SIV infected meat along the Congo river. and the most relevant to me is the polio vaccines that where made in the Congo by a Belgium company, due to the polio crisis in the 1950s
they cultivated the polio virus that would later be inhibited. in liquid from the kidneys of chimpanzees infected with SIV years later one two or even three strains mutated.
the first case was in 1983 if i recall correctly so in a way if this theory that has been more than pr oven but not accepted.
yes man created HIV but with out knowing.
Everyone who thinks otherwise read the river> the beginning and origin of aids. i cant recall the anthropologist that researched for more than half of his life.
there's a documentary also.
good question thank you.
P.S. I remember something that i learned in my immunology class was we all have 10% Resistance to HIV....hmm polio vaccine shot our parents grandparents and us got as infants?

Some say that it originally came as a result of sex with animals, particularly monkeys, in Africa.
Time to re-think keeping the goldfish in the bedroom!
Scientists are constantly experimenting... News is they are experimenting with realy old buried viruses and fungi found when destroying the rainforest. Now THAT's some scary sh*t, since that was all buried for millenia, and now they want to make drugs out of it...
So in answer to your HIV question, if it WAS made in a lab, it's quite possible it was made as a mistake, but it's not like they are going to tell us. Some conspiracy theorists say it was developed knowing it would mutate, but stay within a specific group because of the WAY it's transmitted -- and as such, was developed as a form of population control. Who really knows, we just know it's spreading in some areas at a maddening rate.

Oh, heavens no!
Chimpanzees carry the disease naturally. They are carriers. They do not get sick from it, but it is just along for the ride. Read the story of Typhoid Mary. Well, something bad happens when a carrier comes into contact with an organism that has no natural adaptations to the disease. The organism develops the disease. Unfortunately, it mutated into the disease we know today.

No. It was a mutated virus from a monkey disease from the Congo.
When someone tells you that this terrible disease is "man-made" they probably are including it in the middle of a rant of their agenda.
Do not believe anything they say.

aids or hiv was contracted by monkeys which is non lethal to them but when contracted by humans it shuts down there immune system. Whats sick is that HIV is transmited by sex.
