I wouldn't say best but in my opinion they are up there.. actually both makers make the kind of cars I love..go figure .. Love the GTO from Pontiac and the Trucks from Ford... Own a Ford truck and pontiac's twin a Buick currently because they are pretty good cars that fit me more than some others...
But the Japanese do a good job also

since when can ford not perfect transmissions??? example(something almost all previous answers lack) the ford 500 203 hp auto tranny, .8seconds faster to 60 than the 250 hp Chrysler300 with the same weight... and gm... well some folks were just brought up wrong
and as far as ford trucks go nothing compairs...nothing no way no how not once not ever

well i personally hate fords i like gm and damilerchrysler the best. but ford does own 2 good companys like aston martin and jaguar. and pontiac has some of my least favirote cars they are grand prix and grand am. but they have trans am,gto and sunfire they are pretty cool cars. so ford and pontiac are all right.

Pontiacs are GMs, but for some reason, they suck...
Fords can go either way, they cant seem to perfect transmissions... The modular/triton engines are quite reliable though...
Daimler Chrysler couldnt figure out fuel economy on their engines if their lives depended on it.

I all ways owned a ford mustang so i think ford is the best

I work on GM's I am not a fan of Pontiac but I love my 4th Mustang and also my Chevy truck.

pontiac is like chevys 4th child you know they are there,but doesn't get much attention,i love a chevy- wish i could afford to have 1 of every model,but i think all makes are having issues right now,seems all for has going is the trucks and crown vics for cop cars

Ford is awesome! I'm on my 4th mustang and my 2nd F-150. I wouldn't drive anything else!
