All his friends have since kindergarden!Of course ther is another one of my sons friends who is 16 and still could care less about girls.Whenever you ask my son if a certain girl is cute he turns red and says "I don't know" And we Do Not Think he's gay. Just wondering if any other parents experenced this?

If you weren't concerned about the possibility of him turning out gay, you wouldn't be asking the question. I remember several boys I grew up with not caring about girls until they were in the last 2 years of highschool. Just let him be himself and don't "test" him between now and then by asking him if he thinks girls are cute. P.S. I've also seen a few boys who were crazy about girls when they were in school TURN OUT GAY. Relax.

He may like girls but may not be ready to talk to you about it. It's hard for a parent to take, but he's not always saying everything. As much as parents kind of wish they were the child's best friend or tell-all person it's not the case. Maybe he'll warm up to the idea and talk to you about it, and usually parents will have an idea about their child's sexuality particularly mothers so if you don't think so chances are he will like girls or alreayd does. It does vary

When I was a kid, I was really quite shy about talking about that kind of thing with my folks. I'm pretty sure that almost nothing could have convinced me to do so.

I would say, don't let it bug you. Even if he actually doesn't like girls yet, it doesn't really mean anything.

Well, you have to understand that girls mature before boys. Maybe they dont feel secure about talking of girls, maybe he is shy. or maybe his interests are others, that doesnt mean he is gay. I have a friend who is 18 and have never like a girl. and we dont think he is gay, its just that he is so into studying.

no its not unsual for 12 yr old boys to not like girls...my brother who is a Jr. in HS now...just out of the blue became girl crazy...when I was worried that he would never experiment with a girl, now I'm worried about all the girls he's talking to...he's pulling girls that are older than me...

My stepson didn't get interested in girls till he was about 14, I think it is different for everyone. Give him time and see what happens. It seems like he is at that awkward stage of life, kind of interested in girls but won't admit it.

It is completly normal. Most boys hormones don't kick in until they are like either 14 or 15. It is completly normal.

He could just be a late bloomer. My youngest is 4 and he kisses his girlfriend bye everday at daycare. They are getting married next week according to them. It's different for different kids.

Would it matter if he was gay? If you are bothered by homosexuality, straight or not, you have some serious priority issues. If he is gay and you pressure him to like girls he'll find it harder to come out and he'll totally resent you to it. There is nothing worse than trying to shape a person to be 'normal'. Just let your son be who he wants to be, as long as he is happy and healthy don't tamper with him. My family tampered with me for different reasons and I resent them untill no end.

Yeah it's pretty normal. Now once he gets to maybe 14 or 15, then you should be suspicious.
