I am traveling to Grand Cayman(a british territory) next week on American Airlines. I called the airline and the lady I spoke with said the strict UK policy on carry-on luggage extends to the british territories as well. The only items you will be allowed to carry-on will be your passport/ID, plane ticket, wallet, medications, baby formula (if traveling with an infant) and these items must be carried in a clear plastic bag through the security checkpoint. All other items such as laptops, iPods, cell phones, PDAs, etc. must be placed in checked luggage. This totally sucks for me because I have an 8-hour flight to get there with nothing to entertain myself with.

The rules are changing almost daily. Check with your airline just before you get ready to leave home.
