Certainly...it should have been the case all along. We are a bit slow to respond to things needed to be done.

Yes they are necessary, but of course it should have been done some time ago,and it should continue for some time. The reason I say that is because there are rumours saying that police are still hunting at least another 4 in the UK.Those who complain about being delayed should be grateful their safety is of concern, and learn to be more understanding, and thankful, that the intelligence agencies uncovered this plot ,thus keeping them alive!!!

I think it is preposterous.
After the plot was discovered- THEN they begin a crackdown- after it is too late!
and now you have to get to the airport even earlier and sit around, waiting and you aren't allowed to bring a book on the plane, so you can't have a book with you in the airport while you are waiting, unless you throw it away before you get on the plane.
How is a book a security threat? I still have to carry my passport, isn't that the same as a book only smaller?
The rules are so inconsistent, and nonsensical

I think that the rigid security rushed into place granted a victory to the terrorists that I think even they didn't expect. It was completely ridiculous. Of course we need better security at airports. Careful consideration was needed before rushing into it and causing all that confusion and misery.

I think that they should have been done long ago.
But in the US they are already talking about the new rules not lasting long, because the public does not want to put up with them or pay for them.

Yes, it also makes travelling in the aircraft more comfortable cause the jerk next to you isn't trying to carry on his whole wardrobe and a giant backpack.
