Americans are sick.
All they do is make teenagers want to get drunk more than ever because now it is forbidden fruit. In the more advanced European countries children drink wine with their parents and learn what its proper place should be in their lives.
Look at the different behaviors when young people from both backgrounds attend the same college. The Americans are trying to get as drunk as possible and acting like fools while the Europeans are staring at them and wondering what their problem is.

I am not trying to judge americans but teenagers do not control themselves when it comes to alcohol and in part this is because it is prohibited to them. I think that the drinking age should be reduced to 18 years. Though as I came to think about it, it has some good reasoning behind it. At 21, what students are already juniors and by that time they are already wiser and have other more important things to do besides getting drunk when they have the chance. If you will go to germany for example on a friday night, get on bus and you will se many young kids drunk and let me tell you it is not pretty and it is not safe for other people. We should take into account that alcohol presents a real danger to health if consumed in large quantities. By 21 you are already mature and can handle the alcohol better. There are many pros and cons but in the end 18,16,21 does not make a difference.

Americans aren't the only ones who care about selling alcohol to minors.
Canadians, as well as other people around the world, I'm sure, care just as much.
If caught selling alcohol to minors, large fines have to be paid and the institution selling the alcohol can also be sued by the government. It's really serious, and I'm sure they care a lot more than you think.

Its partially a cultural thing, in Russia, there is no restiction on buying alcohol or cigs, and down in Canada its actually pretty strict, think it has to do with people being conservative down here and actually caring not only about the money but about the health of next gen

That's a stupid question. stores get caught all the time selling to minors the person could loose their job and be charged with a misdemeanor. Tell me would you risk that for some one else that you don't know or give a SHlT about? I sure wouldn't.
